Rustic Country Celebrations

After several scorching weeks of sunshine here in the UK, it feels we’ve been treated to a beautiful summer so far. What a better time of year than summer to celebrate a special occasion with some outdoor rustic country pretty?!

I absolutely¬†love the idea of a country themed wedding or party. There is so much scope to bring fun into your day and really wow your guests with thoughtful little details that are sometimes more difficult to incorporate into a traditional hotel venue. A barn or outside marquee can be decorated with garlands or bunting, feature hanging test tubes with beautiful succulents in, be filled with pastel pompoms or bright honeycombs. There’s no end of options when thinking about how to¬†style¬†your seating and tables – beautiful burlap and pearls, lace table runners, and so many ways to bring rustic details into your table centres, seating plans and bar. And of course, what a great excuse for a fantastic band to get your guests up dancing!

With beautiful outdoor space, hay bales¬†and the crescendo of a fun filled outdoor party knees up, a country styled¬†event¬†is a sure way to get¬†create some lasting memories for all of your guests.¬†One of my friends did just that a couple of weeks ago – with tractor rides for the guests from the church to her outdoor field wedding (watch this space as she’s on my list to nag for some pics to share with you all!)

A rustic, country celebration was very much in my mind when I developed my new Fields of Gold stationery collection. Here’s a sneak peak at the invitation for the collection… Fields-of-Gold-Invitation Inspired by fields of wheat, country bunting and ribbon details, this pretty invitation perfectly captures elements of a rustic outdoor summer celebration. Each of the elements in the invitation lend themselves to¬†tie in with your event styling – the pretty floral bunting, the bunches of wheat set the scene for wheat inspired floral arrangements and bales of hay, and the ribbon and frame detail again are easily pulled into styling elements of the special day.

Sound like your cup of tea? A Royal Arrival… It’s a Boy!

Those of you that know me, will know that I LOVE the Royal Family and the great tradition and heritage they hold for our fantastic country. I, like many of you, watched the wedding of William and Kate with my Pimms in hand with excitement and awe. It wasn’t only a stunning affair but the level of excitement and the spectacle of the crowds in London was amazing to see and be part of (ok so I watched it on TV – but come on, I felt part of it!)

Since the announcement¬†that the widely loved Royal couple were expecting their first child,¬†I’ve been one of the many people out there watching¬†closely and getting a little bit too excited about the gorgeous little bundle of joy that will¬†enter into the world, into such¬†an amazing position – third in line to the throne of England. Wow! Even that in itself gives me goosebumps!

William and Kate have been keeping us all on tenterhooks by keeping the gender of their new little love a total surprise and finally today we find out…

It's-a-Boy

I can’t even imagine how cute this little one is going to be. With such beautiful parents and with Kate’s¬†classical yet on trend¬†sense of style, I can’t wait to see some beautiful pics of our new little prince, and future King!

If you too are waiting on the arrival of your own bundle of joy, then please get in touch! All of my design collections can be tailored for Baby Announcements – I can even add a little photo in of your own little prince or princess.

The Royal Arrival collection is also available to order…¬†keep an eye out on the blog over the next few days for¬†a¬†peak of both¬†girl and boy¬†designs. With prices from ¬£1.85 per announcement card – these look beautiful¬†professionally published onto quality card¬†with beautiful¬†envelopes -¬†treat those you love, and make a memory to last forever…!

The Perfect Palette

After yet another glorious summers day, I have been dying to share some of the summer pretty I’ve come across out in the natural world and in the wedding world recently.

So whether you’re looking for inspiration for your forthcoming special occasion or you just want a dose of pretty to brighten your day, I hope you enjoy today’s Perfect Palette inspiration board!

Inspired by rich fig reds and beautifully striking oranges, this stunning colour palette is softened and freshened by the greens of the grass, rocket and foliage. The palette is a perfect way to inject beautiful vibrant colour whilst retaining a sophistication that can sometimes be lost with more traditional brights.

So enough of the words -¬†take a look at this perfect palette in action…

Perfect-Palette-1.2

Mmmm… I hope the beautiful images¬†give you a real feel for a stunningly¬†summer palette¬†ready to¬†work with!

All of the images are taken from my Pinterest Inspiration Boards – if you love them then please take a peek… you’ll find a whole lot of lovely in there! There is some stunningly beautiful photography in today’s Perfect Palette too¬†- you can find links to all source images below.

I’ll leave you to take a look and to daydream on how you can make this perfect palette work for you!
